Summary
The ChurcHope theme for WordPress before 2.2 contains a path traversal flaw (CWE-22) in the downloadlink.php file of the theme's lib directory. An unauthenticated remote attacker can read arbitrary files on the server by supplying directory traversal sequences in the file parameter, which exposes sensitive files such as wp-config.php that contain database credentials. Exploitation was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-18, and a public exploit is linked in the references.
