Summary
easy-pdf-merge versions 0.1.0 through 0.2.6 contain an OS command injection flaw (CWE-78) in the merge function. The source paths, destination path and maxHeap option are passed to child_process.exec() through a shell without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A remote attacker with no privileges and no user interaction can run commands with the privileges of the Node.js process by supplying crafted file names or options. Public proof-of-concept code exists according to CISA SSVC, and no exploitation is listed in CISA KEV.
