Summary
The Linux kernel from version 6.10 is affected by a flaw in the 9p filesystem client, where v9fs_issue_write() does not update the inode size after a write that extends a file on the 9P server. The file size recorded by the client can therefore be smaller than the real size of the server file. The sources do not describe a specific attacker or exploitation conditions, and the flaw is not listed in CISA KEV and has no public exploit reference.

Description from the CNA
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: 9p: Fix v9fs_issue_write() to update i_size and remote_i_size Fix v9fs_issue_write() to update i_size and remote_i_size to the new size of the server file if we made it larger, using the start fpos and the count returned by p9_client_write() to calculate the new minimum file size. This assumes that if the 9P server makes a short write (say it hits ENOSPC), a reduced count is returned.
