Summary
GIMP as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 contains a heap buffer overflow in its GIF export plug-in. A 32-bit integer overflow in the buffer size calculation for very large image dimensions makes the plug-in allocate too small a heap buffer (CWE-119). A local attacker can trigger it when a user exports such an image, which requires user interaction, and the overflow can corrupt memory and crash GIMP.

Description from the CNA
A heap-based buffer overflow was found in GIMP’s GIF export plug-in. Exporting an image with very large width and height can cause 32-bit overflow when computing the pixel buffer size. The plug-in allocates a buffer based on the wrapped value while GEGL writes using the true image extent, rooted in integer overflow
