Summary

PHPNuxBill through 2025.3.20 contains an authentication bypass in RADIUS CHAP verification (CWE-287). Password::chap_verify() returns true when the supplied response does not match, so wrong responses are accepted. An attacker on an adjacent network who knows a valid customer or PPPoE username can log in through MikroTik hotspot or PPPoE CHAP with any incorrect password, gaining network access and using that customer's plan. CISA's SSVC data rates exploitation as proof of concept.
