Summary

zotero-mcp from 0.10.0 through 0.14.1 by 54yyyu contains a server-side request forgery flaw (CWE-918) in which the _fetch_embedded_metadata function fetches URLs without validating the destination. An attacker who uses prompt injection to make the agent call zotero_add_by_url can make the server reach loopback, private, or link-local hosts directly or through redirects, leaking citation meta-tags and error details. The CVSS 4.0 vector indicates a network attacker needs no privileges but requires user interaction.

Description from the CNA

zotero-mcp 0.10.0 through 0.14.1 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows attackers to reach internal services because _fetch_embedded_metadata fetches URLs without destination validation. Attackers can steer the agent via prompt injection into calling zotero_add_by_url, causing requests to loopback, private, or link-local hosts directly or via redirects, leaking citation meta-tags and error details.
