Summary

mcp-remote from 0.8.0 through 0.14.3 sends client secrets and receives tokens over cleartext HTTP in its authorizeWithDeviceCode OAuth device-code flow when the discovered device authorization and token endpoints are non-loopback http URLs. An on-path network attacker can capture the client secret and the issued access and refresh tokens. The weakness is classified as CWE-319. The vulnerability is not listed in CISA KEV and no public exploit is linked in the references.
