Summary
Red Hat lists m17n-lib as affected in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. A missing initialization of a variable (CWE-457) lets the library read uninitialized memory from the stack when it decodes ISO-2022 compound text. An attacker with local access who supplies crafted input to an application that processes ISO-2022 text can trigger the read. If the application exposes or returns the decoded output, the flaw can leak limited information.
