Summary
BusyBox as shipped in Red Hat Hardened Images is affected by a flaw in its mount utility. The utility merges clearing-mask options from a non-root user with fstab options and re-parses them, so the clearing options can override the nosuid, nodev, and noexec restrictions set by the administrator (CWE-693). A local user with low privileges can bypass these mount protections.

Description from the CNA
A flaw was found in BusyBox's mount utility. A non-root user can bypass mount security restrictions set in /etc/fstab by specifying clearing-mask options on the command line. These options pass the non-root flag filter and are merged with fstab options as strings; when the combined options are re-parsed, clearing options can override nosuid, nodev, and noexec protections the administrator intended to enforce.
