Summary
Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved are affected in several release trains before their fixed versions. An improper release of memory before removing the last reference in the l2cpd process (CWE-401) leaves memory unreleased. An adjacent unauthenticated attacker can send LLDP traffic to exhaust l2cpd memory and disrupt Layer 2 control-plane operation when fast receive processing is enabled.

Description from the CNA
An Improper Release of Memory Before Removing Last Reference vulnerability in the l2cpd process of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved platforms allows an adjacent unauthenticated attacker to cause l2cpd memory exhaustion and Layer 2 control-plane disruption via LLDP traffic when fast receive processing is enabled.
