Summary
Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allow a configured BGP ISO-VPN peer to crash the routing protocol daemon (rpd) by sending a specific ISO-VPN update. The crash occurs when BMP route monitoring or NSR processes that update, and the flaw is an improper validation of the quantity specified in input (CWE-1284). The attacker needs only a configured BGP ISO-VPN peer and no user interaction.
