Attack profile from CVSS 4.0 · CNA. Fix status from CNA and Red Hat. Impact type from CWE-88.
Summary
GitPython from 3.1.30 before 3.2.0 is affected. Its guard in Remote.pull() checks only keyword arguments, so the positional refspec is not checked and can inject options (CWE-88). An unauthenticated remote attacker who controls the refspec can run OS commands as the calling process over local-path or SSH transports.

Description from the CNA
GitPython from 3.1.30 before 3.2.0 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in Remote.pull() whose unsafe-option guard inspects only keyword arguments, not the positional refspec. Attackers controlling the refspec can supply --upload-pack=<command> to execute OS commands as the calling process over local-path or SSH transports.

Remediation
Upgrade GitPython to 3.2.0. Red Hat fixes this in RHSA-2026:92510 (OpenShift AI 3.4), RHSA-2026:95655 (Satellite 6.16 for RHEL 8 and 9), RHSA-2026:95656 (Satellite 6.17 for RHEL 9), RHSA-2026:92861 (Satellite 6.19 for RHEL 9) and RHSA-2026:95657 (Satellite 6.18 for RHEL 9). Red Hat AI Inference Server has no fix planned, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) 3, Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) and Red Hat Satellite 6 have no fix available.
