Summary

SimplePie through 1.9.0 contains a local file read vulnerability (CWE-73) that lets a malicious feed server read server files. The server returns a Location header or feed link pointing to a file:// path, and file_get_contents() reads any file the web server process can access. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 8.2 (HIGH). CISA's SSVC rates exploitation as proof of concept, not automatable, with partial technical impact, and CISA has not added it to KEV.
