Summary

In the Linux kernel's IIO pressure driver for ROHM BM1390 sensors, the data read function ignores a cached error value and always returns 0. A failed read is therefore reported as success, so callers can use garbage sensor data without knowing it. The flaw affects Linux kernel versions from 6.14 before the fixed releases.

Description from the CNA

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: pressure: rohm-bm1390: Return error when read fails The data reading function ignores the cached error value, and unconditionally returns 0. Return cached 'ret' -value after stopping the measurement so user knows if read failed and data is garbage.
