Summary

The octeontx2-pf driver in the Linux kernel dereferences queue_to_pfc_map during aura BPID assignment when CONFIG_DCB is enabled, and for SDP VFs that map is never initialized, causing invalid memory access. The fix adds a NULL check before the dereference and assigns a default BPID first, overriding it only when DCB is enabled and the map exists. Affected are Linux kernel 6.14.9 before 6.15, and 6.15 and later before 7.2.10 and 7.3. Red Hat rates it Moderate, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 is affected with no fix available.

Description from the CNA

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-pf: Fix aura BPID assignment when CONFIG_DCB is enabled Previously, BPID assignment under CONFIG_DCB assumed `queue_to_pfc_map` was always initialized. For SDP VFs this leads to invalid memory access as it was not initialized. This patch adds a NULL check for `queue_to_pfc_map` before dereferencing it. Also, simplifies the logic by always assigning a default BPID first, then conditionally overriding it if CONFIG_DCB is enabled and the map exists.
