Attack profile from CVSS 3.1 · CISA ADP. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-862.

Summary

The AI Engine WordPress plugin before 3.7.9 does not check that the item passed to one of its media actions belongs to the requesting user before converting it to an attachment and permanently deleting it. Users with the Editor role and above can therefore delete arbitrary posts of any type, including navigation menus, block templates and global styles that they cannot otherwise delete. The flaw is a missing authorization check (CWE-862) that can be exploited over the network with no user interaction. A public exploit is linked in the references.
