Summary

Netcore NR256CN through 1.5.140116 contains an unauthenticated file write flaw in its Boa-derived /bin/boa web server. Missing authentication for a critical function (CWE-306) lets remote attackers POST to a non-existent .cgi pathname and overwrite update and restore staging files. An attacker can tamper with pending firmware updates or configuration restores, or cause a denial of service, without credentials.
