Attack profile from CVSS 3.1 · CISA ADP. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-248.
Summary
Gitea through 28.1.0 is affected. The organization home handler dereferences a nil organization when the repositories route is requested for an individual user, which causes a panic (CWE-476). An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger repeated HTTP 500 errors and panic log entries without special configuration.

Description from the CNA
Requesting `/{username}/-/repositories` for an individual user instead of an organization made the organization home handler dereference a nil organization and panic. The request needs no authentication and no special configuration. The server answered with an HTTP 500 error and logged a panic for each request; the fix returns 404 for individual users.
