Summary
The rhc package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 is affected, while Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8 and 9 are not affected. The rhc-canonical-facts.service systemd unit runs as root and works on a file in a directory owned by an unprivileged system user without checking whether the file is a symbolic link (CWE-59). A local attacker who has already compromised the yggdrasil system service account can gain ownership of arbitrary files and escalate privileges to root.

Description from the CNA
A flaw was found in the rhc-canonical-facts.service systemd unit shipped with rhc. The service runs as root and operates on a file inside a directory owned by an unprivileged system user without verifying that the file is not a symbolic link. A local attacker who has already compromised the privileged yggdrasil system service account can exploit this to gain ownership of arbitrary files, leading to privilege escalation to root.
