Summary

The TYPO3 extension FAL Protect from 1.7.1 before 1.8.2 no longer applied its access protection to files in file storages that use a non-default relative base path. Such files were served directly by the web server without any authentication or permission check, which is a missing authorization flaw (CWE-862). An unauthenticated remote attacker can read these files, but only on websites running TYPO3 14.3 where the extension is used.
