Summary

Netmaker through 1.7.0 contains an authorization bypass in the updateExtClient handler that lets users scoped to one network modify external clients on other networks. An attacker with external client permissions on one network can send PUT requests to an endpoint that uses an unscoped lookup (CWE-639) to replace public keys, disable clients, and obtain WireGuard private keys. The attack requires low privileges over the network and no user interaction.
