Attack profile from CVSS 4.0 · CNA. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-693.
Summary
ImageMagick from 7.0.0-0 before 7.1.2-32 and from 0 before 6.9.13-58 is affected. An incomplete fix for an earlier policy bypass leaves a protection mechanism failure (CWE-693) that lets input evade configured security policy restrictions. An attacker with high privileges and local access who can supply input to ImageMagick can run operations the policy was meant to block.

Description from the CNA
ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a security policy bypass caused by an incomplete fix for the policy bypass reported in GHSA-jjp4-3fwf-393j. An attacker able to supply input to ImageMagick can evade configured security policy restrictions, allowing operations the policy was intended to block.
