Attack profile from CVSS 3.1 · CNA. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-345.

Summary

The Eurobank WooCommerce Payment Gateway plugin through 2.1.1 does not verify that a payment-confirmation request comes from the payment provider (CWE-345). The secret that would authenticate these requests ships empty by default, so an unauthenticated attacker can mark any pending order as paid or force any order into a failed status. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 5.3 (MEDIUM). CISA has not added it to KEV, but the references include an exploit link.

Description from the CNA

The Eurobank WooCommerce Payment Gateway WordPress plugin through 2.1.1 does not verify that a payment-confirmation request genuinely originates from the payment provider, and ships with the secret that would authenticate it empty by default, allowing unauthenticated attackers to mark any pending order as paid, and to force any order into a failed status without any secret at all.

Remediation

No fixed version is listed for this plugin. Until one is available, set a strong secret for the payment-confirmation callback so it is no longer empty, and check orders marked as paid against records from the payment provider.
