Summary
SOEM versions before 2.0.1 let a malicious device on the network send specially crafted messages that make the master write data outside its allocated memory. The software performs arithmetic on message length values without validating them, so negative or extremely large values bypass safety checks, tracked as CWE-191, CWE-195 and CWE-787. An attacker can corrupt memory and potentially execute arbitrary code on the master system; CVSS 3.1 base score 8.3 (HIGH). It is not listed in CISA KEV, and no public exploit link is referenced.

Description from the CNA
SOEM version 2.0.0 and earlier contains vulnerabilities where a malicious device on the network can send specially crafted messages that cause the master to write data outside allocated memory boundaries. The software performs arithmetic on message length values without proper validation, allowing negative or extremely large values to bypass safety checks. This can corrupt memory and potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the master system.
