Summary

Apple iOS and iPadOS before 26.7.2 and before 27.2, macOS before 26.7.2 and before 27.2, and tvOS, visionOS and watchOS before 27.2 are affected. A buffer overflow occurs because input is copied without a proper size check (CWE-120). A local user with low privileges can cause memory corruption by supplying a maliciously crafted audio file.

A buffer overflow was addressed with improved size validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2.
