Summary

Nozomi Networks Guardian and CMC from 0 before 26.4.0 contain two OS command injection flaws in the update installation functionality. The update code does not validate the contents of the update bundle sufficiently, a weakness tracked as CWE-78. An attacker with administrative privileges can supply a crafted update bundle that runs arbitrary commands with root privileges, allowing them to read or modify sensitive data, change the appliance configuration, or shut down the appliance.

Description from the CNA

Two OS command injection vulnerabilities were discovered in the update installation functionality due to insufficient validation of the update bundle contents. An attacker with administrative privileges can remotely supply a crafted update bundle that, when installed, causes arbitrary commands to be executed with root privileges, allowing the attacker to read or modify sensitive data, change the appliance configuration, or shut down the appliance.
