Summary
Yamaha LAN Monitor for Windows from 0 through Ver.1.9.3 has an installer that may load Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs) from an insecure search path (CWE-427). When the installer is launched in a directory containing a specially crafted DLL file, the malicious DLL is loaded and runs arbitrary code with administrative privileges. A local attacker who can place such a file in a directory where a user launches the installer can gain administrative control of the system.
