Summary

ProFTPD before 1.3.9e and from 1.3.10rc1 before 1.3.10rc5 contains a buffer overflow in the mod_rewrite int:utf8trans RewriteMap, caused by copying input without checking its size (CWE-120). A remote attacker can send FTP command arguments longer than 1024 bytes and overwrite static buffers, without authentication if pre-login commands are rewritten. The overflow corrupts session memory and crashes the session.
