Summary
The GIMP package on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 is affected. The PSD plug-in's image resource header loader copies a converted resource name into a fixed stack buffer using an incorrect destination size, which causes a stack-based buffer overflow (CWE-121). A local attacker can crash GIMP or potentially execute arbitrary code if a user opens a crafted PSD file.

Description from the CNA
A flaw was found in GIMP. The PSD plug-in’s image resource header loader uses an incorrect destination size when copying a converted resource name into a fixed stack buffer. Opening a crafted PSD file can cause a stack-based buffer overflow, leading to a crash and potentially arbitrary code execution.
