Summary
A flaw in the MicroDVD subtitle parser of the GStreamer gst-plugins-base package before 1.28.2 causes a NULL pointer dereference (CWE-476) when a crafted .sub subtitle file is processed. A remote attacker can crash the application if a user opens or plays media with such a file, which requires user interaction. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are also affected.
