Summary
Google Android from 16, from 16-qpr2 and from 17 is affected by an Enhanced Confirmation Mode (ECM) bypass (CWE-693). A logic error in handlePackagePostInstall of InstallPackageHelper.java lets a sideloaded application modify the package source during a self-update. A local attacker with user-level execution privileges can escalate privileges without user interaction, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity and availability.
