Summary

bbs-go through 4.4.6 has an improper certificate validation flaw (CWE-295) in its SMTP email service. The sendEmail() function sets InsecureSkipVerify to true, so it accepts any TLS certificate. A network-positioned attacker can present any certificate to intercept SMTP traffic, capture SMTP PLAIN authentication credentials, and read or modify outgoing password-reset and verification emails.

bbs-go through 4.4.6 contains an improper certificate validation vulnerability that allows network-positioned attackers to intercept SMTP traffic because sendEmail() sets InsecureSkipVerify to true.
