Attack profile from CVSS 4.0 · CNA. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-345.

Summary

Dreeve before 5.8.0 does not authenticate incoming Strava webhook requests, so unauthenticated remote attackers can forge webhook events. The handler in StravaWebhookRequestHandler does not check a signature, verify token or owner_id (CWE-345). An attacker who knows a public Strava activity id can send a forged delete event to the webhook URL and permanently delete the imported activities and their streams. The CVSS 4.0 vector rates the impact on integrity and availability as low.

Description from the CNA

Dreeve before 5.8.0 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in StravaWebhookRequestHandler::handleEvent that allows unauthenticated attackers to forge Strava webhook events without signature, verify-token or owner_id checks. Attackers can send forged delete events with a known public Strava activity id to the webhook URL, causing permanent deletion of imported activities and their streams.
