Summary

Elastic APM Server versions 8.0.0 through 8.19.23, 9.0.0 through 9.4.8 and 9.5.0 through 9.5.5 are affected. Use of multiple resources with a duplicate identifier (CWE-694) lets a specially crafted agent configuration request return the central configuration of a different service. An authenticated APM agent can receive that configuration until the cached entry expires, and a service can run with settings such as sampling meant for another service.

Description from the CNA

Use of Multiple Resources with Duplicate Identifier (CWE-694) in APM Server can lead to information disclosure via a specially crafted agent configuration request. An authenticated APM agent could receive the central agent configuration that belongs to a different service until the cached configuration expires. A service could also run with central configuration settings, such as sampling settings, that were meant for a different service.
