Attack profile from CVSS 3.1 · CISA ADP. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-79.
Summary
The CookieYes WordPress plugin before 3.5.8 does not restrict who can write its cookie-category script fields and does not sanitize or escape them. Users with the Contributor role can store JavaScript that runs in the browsers of site visitors and of an administrator reviewing the content, which is a cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79). An attacker needs a Contributor account, and the victim must interact with the stored content.
