Summary

SDL_mixer from 3.1.2 through 3.2.4 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in FetchXLaw() when decoding A-law or mu-law WAV files. A crafted WAV file whose float expansion is offset twice overwrites about 1 KB of adjacent stack memory. An attacker who gets a user to open such a file can cause a crash or potentially execute code. The weakness is classified as CWE-121.
