Summary

The GDB client contains a stack buffer overflow in fetch_register_using_p, which decodes a remote stub's register reply into a buffer without bounding writes by the register width (CWE-121). An attacker controlling a debug target can execute arbitrary code in the GDB process when a user interacts with it.

Description from the CNA

The vulnerability exists in fetch_register_using_p, which decodes a stub's register reply into an alloca-sized buffer without bounding writes by the register width.
