Summary

The Advanced Custom Fields (ACF®) WordPress plugin before 6.8.11 does not re-apply its field-group location rules when saving values from the post editor. A user with contributor-level access or above can therefore write custom fields that the site restricts to administrators onto their own posts. This is an improper access control flaw (CWE-284). A public exploit is linked in the references.
