Summary

WSO2 Enterprise Integrator, WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 Identity Server and WSO2 Carbon User Management UI are affected. The user search function in the management console does not encode user-supplied input before rendering it in the browser, which is a cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79). An unauthenticated attacker on the adjacent network can inject scripts that run in a user's browser within the console when that user interacts with the page, allowing redirects, page changes or information extraction, while httpOnly session cookies prevent session hijacking.

Description from the CNA

The user search function within the management console fails to properly encode user-supplied input before rendering it in the browser. This allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts that are then executed by the user's browser in the context of the management console. Successful exploitation enables an attacker to redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the web page's user interface, or extract information from the browser. However, due to the use of the httpOnly flag on sensitive session cookies, session hijacking or similar attacks are prevented.
