Summary
AdPlug through 2.4 has a heap out-of-bounds read in CdmoLoader::load() (CWE-125), where a truncated TwinTeam DMO file makes it read past a heap allocation. A local attacker who gets a user to open a crafted 12- or 13-byte DMO file can read beyond the allocation and potentially crash the application. A public exploit is linked in the references.

Description from the CNA
AdPlug through 2.4 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in CdmoLoader::load() in src/dmo.cpp that allows attackers to read past a heap allocation by supplying a truncated TwinTeam DMO file. Attackers can supply a 12- or 13-byte file passing dmo_unpacker::decrypt(), opened via CAdPlug::factory, to read bytes beyond packed_module and potentially crash the application.
