Summary

AIOHTTP before 3.14.4, the aio-libs aiohttp package on PyPI, is affected. An absolute-form request target makes Request.scheme use the scheme supplied in the request instead of the connection protocol, which is an instance of CWE-807 (reliance on untrusted inputs in a security decision). A remote attacker with no privileges and no user interaction can make an unencrypted connection look encrypted or the reverse, which affects applications that use Request.scheme for security decisions.

Description from the CNA

AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Prior to 3.14.4, an attacker can send an absolute-form request that causes Request.scheme to use attacker-controlled request-target scheme data instead of the connection protocol. Applications that use Request.scheme for security decisions can consequently be tricked into treating an unencrypted connection as encrypted or an encrypted connection as unencrypted. This issue is fixed in version 3.14.4.
