Attack profile from CVSS 3.1 · CISA ADP. Fix status from CNA and Red Hat. Impact type from CWE-201.
Summary
Affected are the curl releases from 7.75.0 through 8.21.0 as listed. Setting CURLOPT_AWS_SIGV4 to NULL does not disable SigV4 authentication, so a later transfer on the same handle still sends an Authorization AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 header to the next URL set, which leaks state information (CWE-201). A remote attacker with no privileges can trigger this, though the CVSS vector rates the attack complexity as high.

Description from the CNA
Setting `CURLOPT_AWS_SIGV4` to NULL but does not disable SigV4 authentication, contrary to expectations and documentation. A subsequent transfer on the same handle still sends an `Authorization: AWS4-HMAC-SHA256` header to whatever URL isset next, leaking state information.
