Summary

NLnet Labs Routinator stores a newly retrieved trust anchor certificate, fetched over HTTPS, in its cache without validating it. Even when validation fails, the new certificate can overwrite a known good trust anchor certificate, an improper handling of exceptional conditions (CWE-755). A remote attacker with high privileges can affect integrity and availability, with limited impact.
