Summary

Apple iOS and iPadOS before 26.7.2 and before 27.2, and macOS before 15.8.2 and before 26.7.2, are affected. An out-of-bounds write (CWE-787) lets the software write outside the intended memory buffer. A local attacker with no privileges can corrupt memory if a user opens a maliciously crafted PDF file.

An out-of-bounds write issue was addressed with improved bounds checking. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2. Processing a maliciously crafted PDF file may lead to memory corruption.
