Attack profile from CVSS 4.0 · CNA. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-79.

Summary

REDAXO from 5.18.0 before 5.21.4 contains a cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79) because rex_media_service moves uploaded SVG files into the public media folder before sanitizing them. An authenticated user with mediapool upload rights can race the sanitizer or exhaust memory limits to leave script-laden SVGs publicly served. Scripts then run in the browsers of victims' backend sessions, and the attack is hard to carry out and needs user interaction.
