Summary
vsftpd through 3.0.5 lets authenticated FTP users run commands that the cmds_denied setting is meant to block (CWE-184). The check in process_post_login() compares only literal command names, so the RFC 775 X-prefixed aliases XRMD, XMKD, XCWD, XPWD and XCUP bypass it and perform blocked operations such as deleting directories. An attacker needs valid FTP credentials and network access to the service.

Description from the CNA
vsftpd through 3.0.5 contains an access control bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated FTP users to execute denied commands by issuing RFC 775 X-prefixed aliases. The cmds_denied check in process_post_login() compares literal tokens, so attackers can send XRMD, XMKD, XCWD, XPWD, or XCUP to perform blocked operations like deleting directories.
