Summary

vsftpd through 3.0.5 has an authentication bypass in ssl_data_accept() that lets an unauthenticated attacker hijack FTPS data connections. The flaw is an improper verification of the source of a communication channel (CWE-940). An attacker who shares the victim's source IP address can obtain a TLS session ticket through AUTH TLS and connect to the victim's PASV port to steal downloads or inject upload data. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 9.1 (critical).

vsftpd through 3.0.5 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in ssl_data_accept() that allows unauthenticated attackers to hijack FTPS data connections by resuming their own TLS session ticket. Attackers sharing the victim's source IP can obtain a ticket via AUTH TLS, then connect to the victim's PASV port to steal downloads or inject upload data.
