Summary

Wazuh from 3.12.0 before 4.14.8 contains a heap buffer overflow in the FIM alert generation function fim_generate_alert(), where the full_log buffer is sized from input but written up to OS_MAXSTR. An enrolled agent can send a crafted FIM syscheck event that corrupts manager heap memory and deterministically crashes wazuh-analysisd, which causes a fleet-wide detection outage. The flaw is classified as CWE-122 (heap-based buffer overflow) and carries a CVSS 4.0 score of 7.1.
