Summary

The LearnPress Course Review plugin for WordPress from thimpress is affected in all versions up to and including 4.2.2. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the review title let scripts be stored (CWE-79). An authenticated attacker with subscriber access or above can inject scripts that run when a user opens the injected page. The scripts run only after an administrator approves the review, unless auto-approval of previously approved comments is configured.

Description from the CNA

The LearnPress – Course Review plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'review_title (inside `data.args.review_title`)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 4.2.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The injected payload only executes after an administrator approves the submitted review, though sites with comment_previously_approved auto-approval configured may bypass manual moderation.
