Attack profile from CVSS 4.0 · CNA. Fix status from CNA. Impact type from CWE-200.

Summary

SurrealDB before 3.3.0 contains an authorization bypass that lets callers with table-level write permission read fields restricted from SELECT. JSON Patch pointers resolve against the unreduced record, so an attacker with low privileges and network access can use PATCH copy or move operations to copy hidden fields into readable destinations. Test mismatch errors can also reveal hidden field values. The weakness is CWE-200, Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor.

Description from the CNA

SurrealDB before 3.3.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows callers with table-level write permission to read SELECT-restricted fields by resolving JSON Patch pointers against the unreduced record. Attackers can use PATCH copy or move operations to copy hidden fields into readable destinations, or abuse test mismatch errors as a disclosure oracle.
